“The request to postpone execution of Saulat Mirza was made by Balochistan government because he was not fit to hang”, said Nisar

Speaking at the floor of National Assembly today, Chaudhary Nisar said the executions of the convicts Saulat Mirza and Shafqat Hussain have been delayed on different reasons for 72 hours.

Regarding the case against MQM Chief Altaf Hussain, the minister said the matter regarding threats from Altaf Hussain to security agencies, Rangers and armed forces came under discussion during his meeting with British High Commissioner to Pakistan yesterday.

“The murder case of Dr Imran Farooq which is under investigation also came under discussion during the meeting with British High Commissioner”, he added.

The minister said that some progress on this case has been made. He said no political implications should be seen in this case.

Chaudhry Nisar  said government is liable to provide, whatever proofs it has, to bring the killers of Dr Imran Farooq to justice.
