Explosive laden vehicle captured in Karachi

KARACHI: A terror plot was foiled as Law Enforcing Agencies (LEAs) seized an explosive filled truck from Mauripur area of Karachi, ARY News reports on Friday.

Police carried out a raid after receiving information of the vehicle. More than 100 kilograms of explosive material was in the truck.

Three persons were also arrested in the process. One of the nabbed persons is known to be a close aide of Taliban commander Khan Zaman Mehsud and is also involved in carrying out explosions in the city. 

According to Police, one person was killed by unknown person's firing at Sharae Noor Jehan near Katti Pahari area.

Police arrested a target killer named Aamir alias Mirchi from Malir area. He was affiliated to Wasi Ullah Lakho gang. Aamir was involved in several offences including attacks on police.

Ten Afghan suspects were rounded up by LEAs from MPR Colony.

Police arrested 28 alleged criminals, involved in street crimes, in a raid at Sharafi Goth area of Landhi Town. Arms and drugs were also recovered from the suspects.

Four suspects were arrested by the police from Clifton area. They were involved in street crimes.

On the other hand, a case was filed against unknown persons over the killing of five persons, including a worker of Awami National Party Dr. Israr, in Orangi Town Police Station jurisdiction. The First Information Report (FIR) of the incident was filed on charges of terrorism.
