Exports of ready-made garments grow by 9.17pc

ISLAMABAD: Exports of ready-made garments has witnessed the positive growth of Rs. 105.833 million during the first eight months of the current fiscal year when compared to the corresponding period of last year, ARY News reported.

According to the statistics of Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), readymade garments' export increased from $1,154.092 million to $1,259.925 million, an increase of 9.17 percent during July-February (2013-14) as compare to the same time period of previous fiscal year.

Furthermore, the overall exports of textile products from Pakistan experienced a positive growth of 8.28 per cent increasing exports the during the first eight months of the current fiscal year when compared to the corresponding period of last year.

The overall textile exports from the country were recorded at $9.155 billion during July-February (2013-14) as compared to the exports of $8.455 billion during July-February (2012-13), PBS revealed.
