Extension of Summer vacations- Sindh Schools will reopen on 31st July

KARACHI: The Sindh Education Department has proposed to extend summer vacations due to upcoming General elections 2018 and searing weather.

According to sources, the summary is sent by Education Secretary Alia Shahid to the Federal Ministry for approval from provincial education department for summer vacations extension, the main reason mentioned is upcoming elections 2018 which are to be held on 25th July 2018 and the weather conditions.

The process of approval will mainly include approval from caretaker Chief Minister Fazlur Rehman and then a go ahead from caretaker Education Minister Sadia Rizvi’s sanction is mandatory.

The teachers will be busy in elections 2018 to perform their duties as assigned by the government. Therefore, it is proposed to prolong the vacations till 27th of July.

Previously, Sindh Government had to declare the commencement of summer holidays, i.e. on  May 14 to July 16 instead of the date confirmed earlier as June 1 to July 31 due to severe heat wave. The add on to which was the holy month of Ramadan in which it was though to provide students with the needed comfort.

It is also decided that 14th August, the independence of Pakistan shall be celebrated in schools and all establishments with full enthusiasm after enjoying countless summer holidays welcoming the new beginning of the academic year,
