Failure of talks can endanger Pakistan's geography: Siraj ul Haq

LAHORE: Finance Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Siraj ul Haq has said that the geography of Pakistan can also be endangered, in case of failure of talks between the Government and Taliban – ARY News reports.

While talking to media here, Siraj ul Haq welcomed the support of dialogue process by the Afghan Taliban and said that result-oriented talks will cast its positive effects on Afghanistan too.

However, he told that there are almost a thousand hurdles in the way of negotiations and in case of failure threats can also be posed to the geography of Pakistan.

The KP Minister told that if both Government and Taliban are sincere, then these hurdles mean nothing. He told that this is a last chance for both the sides to reach a logical solution, whilst Jamat e Islami (JI) in only acting as link between Government and Taliban.

Siraj ul Haq further said that if the Prime Minister meets the Taliban announced committee, then it won't make any difference to him, whereas the Army Chief is also a part of the system, he too should not mind meeting Taliban envoys.

Moreover, he declined to predict about the results of the peace process, yet urged the people to be hope for the best.
