Faisalabad girl arrested after faking own abduction

FAISALABAD: Faisalabad police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a girl for faking her abduction and receiving ransom from her parents, ARY News reported.

According to CPO Faisalabad, the girl, Amna Samreen, along with her friend Talha Ejaz faked her abduction and received more than 200, 000 rupees as ransom for her release.

The girl went missing on February 26 and her parents, through different means, paid more than 200, 000 rupees as ransom for her release. Meanwhile police traced location from the phone calls received by her parents and raided their hideout in Lahore.

As police arrested them, the girl told police that she was there of her own will and admitted that she had not been kidnapped.

The CPO added that police have registered a case and both the girl and the boy are being interrogated.
