Farhan wins 10th CNS Squash Championship
KARACHI: Top seed Farhan Mehboob has clinched Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) International Squash Championship title for the second consecutive time at Roshan Khan/Jahangir Khan Squash Complex, Karachi on Monday, ARY News reported.
The final was played between Nasir Iqbal and Farhan Mehboob. Reigning champion Farhan Mehboob displayed wonderful tactics and overwhelmed the opponent Nasir Iqbal by 3-0.
Speaking to media following his victory, Farhan said that he had worked very hard to dominate the event.
“My main objective is to improve Pakistan’s ranking in the world of squash”, he added.
Admiral Muhammad Asif Sandila handed the winning trophy of the event to the champion ‘Farhan’ and alos distributed prizes to the runner ups and officials of the tournament.
The prize money for the championship was worth US $ 15000 in which top ranked national players including Nasir Iqbal, Farhan Zaman, Aamir Atlas Khan, Danish Atlas Khan had participated in the event.
Pakistan Navy has a long association with squash, which dates back to independence. From a single court at Manora Island to Pakistan’s largest world class complex, named after two legends of squash, Roshan Khan and Jahangir Khan, was purely out of Pakistan Navy’s love for the Game.
