Mainstreaming of FATA key to tribal empowerment and prosperity: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Traders affected by military operations in North Waziristan agency will hold a meeting with local civil, military and FATA representatives on April 22 to discuss issues and way forward.

According to a statement by Director-General Inter Services Public Relations Major-General Asif Ghafoor, the economic rehabilitation of tribes takes priority, and mainstreaming of FATA remains key to their empowerment and prosperity.

He said the Pakistan army has overcome several challenges and will gradually bring normalcy in the region by working together. He also said that hostile forces are trying to create uncertainty but will never succeed.

“We are through with challenges of ‘clear’ phase after kinetic operations, ‘hold & build’ in progress. Its our home,by working together we shall gradually bring back complete normalcy. Its time to be aware of inimical forces trying to create uncertainty but shall never succeed,” said DG ISPR.

He appreciated the efforts of the brave tribes of FATA who have achieved peace and stability after a lot of hardships and sacrifices.

He said the restoration of normal life after operations is part of the ‘clear-hold-build-transfer’ strategy, and state including security forces are committed to rehabilitate the affected population.
