ISLAMABAD: Case has been filed against father of Facebook star Qandeel Baloch over defecting from his statement in the murder case of his daughter, ARY News reported.

An investigation officer has filed case against Baloch’s father Mohammad Azeem under Section 213 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) in Chehleek Police Station over defecting from his statement against suspect Aslam Shaheen in the murder case.

It should be noted that Shaheen was nominated in the murder case by Baloch’s father.

Police has formed teams for the arrest of Azeem.

Internet celebrity Qandeel Baloch was strangulated to death allegedly by her brother in Multan last year.

Her brother Mohammad Waseem said she had brought shame to the family and had confessed to his crime in a press conference after his arrest.

The model was criticised by detractors who found her posts indecent in the conservative country. But fans praised her for daring to challenge social norms and taboos by appearing in videos that were soft by Western standards.

She also posed for selfies with a high-profile cleric in an incident that saw him swiftly rebuked by the religious affairs ministry. The cleric lost his membership of a top religious body after his photos with the model appeared on the social media.
