Fawad Khan to play iconic Pakistani singer Alamgir in biopic

We all remember how Pakistani heartthrob Fawad Khan made it big at first with his rock band Entity Paradigm. Well, it seems like the musician in Fawad Khan has not yet died and as a result, the singer cum actor will next be seen in a biopic about legendary Pakistani singer Alamgir.

According to Fawad Khan’s tweet, the movie will be called Albela Rahi, named after one of the most popular Urdu songs of its time by Alamgir.  Alamgir continues to enjoy popularity in Pakistan, since he is considered to be one of the pioneers of Urdu pop music, having sought influence from legendary singer Ahmed Rushdi.

Details pertaining to the film have been kept in the wraps for the time being, except for the fact that the movie will be directed by Sultan Ghani and will be produced by a company known as Fog Catcher. Fawad Khan will next be seen opposite Alia Bhatt, Rishi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra in the Bollywood flick Kapoor and Sons.

The casting seems to be on point for Albela Rahi–who better to play the role of a popular musician than Fawad Khan?
