Fawad lauds services of outgoing CJP Saqib Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Lauding the services of outgoing Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry said, first time in the history of Pakistan powerful people had to undergo the process of accountability.

In his message on the retirement of the CJP Nisar, the minister said, the outgoing Chief Justice eliminated the sense of powerlessness from people and increased the trust of public on judiciary through his actions.

Mr Fawad said he [CJP] transformed the supremacy of constitution, rule of law and implementation of basic human rights into a movement.

The information minister further added in his statement that, Mian Saqib Nisar started the great mission of construction of dams to overcome water shortage in the country and the government will take his great cause forward.

Earlier in the day, CJP Nisar had said he tried to resolve issues of public importance pertaining to health, education and basic rights of citizens, within the ambit of the Constitution.

He was addressing a full-court reference held to bid farewell to the outing CJP.

“The job of judges is extremely difficult. I worked within the code of conduct for judges and it is my honour to have served the nation”.
