Addressing a media workshop here on Wednesday, Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that journalism has got vital significance under a political and democratic dispensation, and it has to be there, wherever politics and democracy exist.
He added that there lies no media in monarchy or dictatorship.
Fazl lamented that the social media is distancing the youths from their ancestors and they are getting diverted from their culture and civilization.
The JUIF chief stressed on the need of highlighting healthy aspects of print and electronic media.
He told that his party brought no-confidence motion in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), but the Prime Minister opposed it saying that it is not a proper juncture to take this move.
