FBR extends date for filing of tax returns

TOP NEWS

Considering the issues facing tax defaulters, the FBR decided to extended date by 30 days for filing of tax returns.

The last date for filing tax returns is now fixed at October 31.

It may be noted here that the Pakistan Tax Bar Association (PTBA) had urged the FBR to extend date of filing of tax returns and wealth statement from Sept 30 for tax year 2014 by at least two months.

The PTBA said that taxpayers were facing many difficulties while filing tax returns on FBR’s web-portal under new IRIS system.

The bar also pointed out that the SRO for corporate tax return 2014 had not yet been issued which meant that companies having special tax year could not file their tax returns online by Sept 30.
