30 miscreants gunned down in Parwad Operation, claims FC

KHUZDAR: The Spokesperson of the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan, has claimed that FC lodged an operation in Parwad mountain ranges near Khuzdar over the presence of militant hideouts there, during which 30 miscreants were killed, while 10 security men were also injured – ARY News reports.

According to details, FC troops along with Kalat Scouts operated in the vicinity and attacked several militant hideouts there. During the operation led by the Special Operation Wing of FC, choppers were also used for quick supply to ground troops.

The FC Spokesperson elaborated that 6 vehicles used by miscreants were destroyed during the operation, whereas more than 30 militants were killed. He added that 10 security men were also injured because of counter fire by the militants.

It was further reported that majority of these miscreants belonged to banned outfits, especially the Balochistan Republican Army (BRA) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), who were also involved in recent attacks on passenger trains in Bolan.

The FC official stated that the miscreants attacked the troops with automatic firearms and hand grenades.

The IG FC Balochistan, Major General Aijaz Shahid was said to be monitoring the operation himself and he vowed to continue the operation until complete eradication of the miscreants.

A chopper had to make emergency landing during the operation at Quetta-Kalat Road, due to a technical fault in its engine, however the pilot and other staff remained safe during the incident.

Moreover, 10 training camps of the militants were also claimed to be destroyed, during the offensive.
