PESHAWAR: Taliban spokesman on Monday claimed that the law enforcement agencies have killed 23 under custody Taliban members in last three days and dumped their dead bodies, ARY News reports.
In a statement Tehrik e Taliban spokesman Shahidullah Shahid has said that within three days 16 members of TTP have been killed in Nowshera and seven in Karachi in custody and their dead bodies were dumped. Angry over killings of their associates, Mohmand Agency Taliban have killed captive FC personnel, he said.
He said Taliban are seriously considering over the government proposal of ceasefire but killing of their members in captivity would make the dialogue process more difficult.
Taliban spokesman asked the government to stop the 'root-out operation' immediately to avoid hurdles in the process of dialogue.
He said the TTP has been in contact with their colleagues in Mohmand Agency, who have murdered captive FC men in anger over the killings of their colleagues in detention.
The killings of 23 security men have created deadlock in talks with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), as the government called off its meeting with Taliban negotiators scheduled to be held on Monday.
Mohmand Agency Taliban had claimed that they have killed 23 men of the Frontier Constabulary (FC) taken captive in year 2010.
After the announcement the government committee has decided not to hold talks today and informed the Taliban committee about its decision.
