According to details, the government rejected the OGRA’s recommendation of a Rs. 11 cut in petrol prices and reduced the per litre cost of petrol, diesel and kerosene by five rupees.
Petrol, after the reduction of five rupees, now costs Rs. 71. 26 per litre, diesel Rs. 75.79 per litre and kerosene costs Rs. 43.94 per litre.
It should be noted that the federal government collected 21 percent sales tax on petrol, 22 percent on kerosene and 51 percent sales tax on diesel.
