LAHORE: A team of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials has raided an illegal exchange that operated through the national satellite, confiscated 26 gateways and arrested 6 people from there – ARY News reports.
The exchange was built in a market near Mansoora and it was operated through national satellite. FIA officials told that the exchange was formed by acquiring a network connection from Dubai via satellite, which could also be traced out by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
It was further reported that the owner of the exchange Ata ur Rehman is a software engineer by profession, who has also worked there in Europe and Canada.
FIA team also confiscated hundreds of sim-cards and other technical equipment, whereas it was told that further information about the accused will be revealed after the call records are checked completely.
