FIA declares Zardari, Faryal Talpur as absconders
ISLAMABAD: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has declared Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur as absconders in the fake bank accounts case and money laundering worth billions of rupees.
The interim application in the case submitted at the city court in Karachi has declared both Zardari and Faryal Talpur as absconders.
Both have been placed on the 19th and 20th position on the list of individuals nominated in the case submitted to Sessions Judge South.
The list has names twenty individuals including a prominent banker while Zardari and Talpur are bottom placed in the list.
Last week, the Supreme Court restrained the FIA from pursuing inquiry against Zardari and his sister till the general elections.
Earlier, the FIA had also summoned both for questioning but they didn’t turn up and instead submitted a statement that they were busy in the election campaign would appear in a first week after the polls.
The Ministry of Interior on Wednesday removed the names of Zardari and Faryal Talpur from the Exit Control List (ECL).
