ISLAMABAD: In a surprising statement, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Firdous Ashiq Awan on Thursday accused PTI stalwart Usman Dar of assaying to creep into power in the party.

“A herd of politically orphaned people wants to take over the PTI. If the same group gave time in their constituency, Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif would not be able to create influence there,” she said accusing Sialkot’s Dar brothers at workers’ convention in Islamabad.

This should be noted that Firdous Awan has recently joined the PTI leaving the Pakistan Peoples Party. While, Usman Dar is a veteran PTI politician and his petition against Asif in the court has put the latter in deep hot water.

Senior PTI leader Asad Umar, rejecting all the allegations of Firdous Ashiq on this occasion, said Chairman PTI Imran Khan also acknowledged achievements of Dar brothers for the party and because of their struggle Asif’s name would soon be in the list of disqualified people.

It is apropos here to mention that a larger bench of the Islamabad High Court last month issued notice to Khawaja Asif on a petition seeking his disqualification under Article 62 and 63 for concealing details of his foreign work permit.
