Fireworks expected in Senate session today

ISLAMABAD: Heated arguments are expected to take place regarding the controversial Pakistan Protection Ordinance (PPO) during the session of the Senate here in Islamabad on Monday (today), ARY News reports.

The session of the upper house will start at 04:00 P.M. It will be presided by Chairman Senate Nayyar Bukhari.

Opposition parties have unitedly rejected the ordinance and have called it as a violation of basic human rights. The government may face a tough time in getting the ordinance passed by the Senate.

Overall law and order situation in the country will be debated in the session whereas the peace process with Taliban is likely to be discussed.
