First ODI: Pakistan, New Zealand eye winning start

DUBAI: Pakistan and New Zealand will be eyeing a winning start to the five match one day series as they square off in the first ODI here in Dubai on Monday (today), ARY News reports.

Earlier, the three match test series was drawn 1-1 whereas the two Twenty20 match series was also drawn between Pakistan and New Zealand.

It should be noted that the green shirts have lost all of their previous six ODI matches whereas the Kiwis won two out their five ODIs.

The hosts are likely to include Umar Gul in the side whereas New Zealand are expected to make two changes to the side as well. It should be noted that ace spinner Mohammad Hafeez will not be allowed to bowl after he was suspended by the International Cricket Council (ICC) over an illegal bowling action.

Hafeez will be a part of the playing XI as a batsman.
