Government claims of no load shedding during Sehr and Iftar timings proved hollow and the people remained panicked from Karachi to Khyber while fasting on first of Ramazan.

Late on Thursday night a violent protest erupted in Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where charged-up protesters set Pesco sub-divisional office on fire and blocked the motorway. In Charsadda too, the people protested against prolonged power outage and attacked the Pesco sub-office.

In Multan, unannounced load-shedding infuriated the residents of Haram Gate, Sabzi Mandi and Rehmanpura areas, who surrounded the Wapda office and chanted slogans against the government.

Similar protests were held in Lodhran, Gujranwala and Khanewal.

The span of unannounced load shedding was also increased in Karachi, Sukkur, Hyderabad, Dadu and Mirpur Khas against which the people took to roads and surrounded relative offices voicing slogans against the government.
