Five bullet-riddled bodies recovered from Turbat sent to Gujrat

LAHORE: The five bullet-riddled bodies that recovered earlier in Turbat have been sent to the deceased’s native town of Gujrat from Lahore, ARY News reported on Sunday.

The bodies were first shifted to Karachi from Turbat via C-130 aircraft.

According to Edhi Foundation spokesperson, the bodies were shifted to one of its morgue in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth, where the ritual bathing of the bodies were performed.

Later, the bodies were sent to Lahore via an aircraft, where Provincial Minister for School Education Rana Mashood Ahmed Khan received the corpses.

The bodies were identified as those of Usman Qadir, Danish Ali, Badar Munir, Saqib Ali and Qasim, hailing from Punjab’s Gujrat.

On Nov 15, bullet riddled bodies of 15 men were found in the Gerok area of tehsil Buleda in Kech district near Pak-Iran border. All the deceased belonged to Punjab province and were kidnapped by a militant organization while trying to sneak into Iran.

Terrorist involved in Turbat massacre killed

On Nov 17, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan killed an alleged terrorist involved in the recent killing of 15 illegal border-crossers during an Intelligence Based Operation (IBO), Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) had said in a statement.

According to ISPR, the raid was carried out near Alandur area – Abdul Rehman village – of Turbat district on an intelligence tip-off about presence of the terrorists.

Younis Taukali, one of the eight top commanders of Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF), was killed in an exchange of fire with the FC personnel.

The terrorist was killed 20 kilometres west of Buleda and 25km north of where the bullet-riddled bodies of 15 migrants mostly hailing from Punjab were found on Wednesday.
