Five policemen martyred in firing over police van in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Five police personnel were martyred in a firing incident over a police van at Indus highway, in the limits of Tehsil proa, DI Khan, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

As per details, unknown assailants opened fire over the police van at the Indus Highway, resulting in martyrdom of three personnel on the spot, while two got injured.


The Injured were moved to the District Headquarter hospital Dera Ismail Khan, where  they succumbed to  their bullet wounds.

The martyred policemen were identified as, SHO Tahir Nawaz, DFC Mir Baz, driver, Javed and two constables namely Asif and Sarfaraz.

In a separate attack over the security forces back in February 2018, the unidentified armed attackers had shot dead two Balochistan Constabulary personnel and injured another at a flyover on Double Road of Quetta.

The personnel were part of Rapid Response Force and going to perform their routine duties when targeted by unidentified armed men.

The attackers riding a motorcycle opened fire on them and sped away, police said.

As result of the intense firing, all received gunshot injuries and two of them succumbed to their wounds during the medical treatment at the Civil Hospital, officials said.
