According to a foreign news agency, the inmates detained over drug charges had sawed the iron bars over some time and managed to crept through after they saw the cop named Teofilo Toledo sleeping.
They have scattered after their escape and none have been tracked as yet.
The police officer has been removed from active duty.
Meanwhile, Superintendent Jose Briones has appealed the relatives of the prisoners to help the authorities in returning them back to the correction facility and testify in the court.
It is still unknown as to why the inmates were locked in the cozy jail for so long.
