Five security men wounded in attack on govt convoy in Awaran

AWARAN: Five security men were injured when armed assailants attacked a government convoy in Awaran district of Balochistan, ARY News reported.

According to a Levies official, District Police Office (DPO) Aziz Jakhrani and Assistant Commissioner Fayyaz Ali were reaching Awaran from Bela when armed men ambushed their convoy at Jhanondara area.

An exchange of fire took place between the security personnel accompanied with the convoy and the attackers, in which two Levies and three police officers sustained bullet injuries.

The DPO and assistant commissioner were unscathed in the terrorist attack.

The injured security personnel were rushed to a hospital for medical attendance. The condition of an injured is said to be critical.

D.G. Levies Balochistan has condemned the incident and lauded the forces for fighting the militants and foiling the attack.
