Flood emergency declared in Chachran Sharif

Rahimyar Khan’s district administration has declared flood emergency in Chachran Sharif ahead of expected high flood flow of 8,00,000 in Indus to pass through the area.

River Indus presently flowing at 100,000 cusecs in Chachran Sharif. The peak flood in Indus river will pass through the area in coming 24 hours. The district administration has finalized measures to tackle the flood emergency situation.

Local administration has setup flood relief camps for the flood victims and Rescue 1122 has been kept on alert.

Punjab police department has provided six boats to the local authorities for help in relief and rescue operations.

A settlement of 25 tents have been set up in Chachran Sharif for the flood victims.

Ahead of the flood people of the leaving the area to safer places.

Moreover, Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has suspended its work at the building site of Benazir Bridge on Indus river and construction equipments have been transferred to safer places.
