Flour crisis continues in Karachi

KARACHI: The conflict between Flour Mill owners and Ministry of Food has added the difficulties of Karachi residents. 

Residents of Karachi, who were already suffering number of problems including electricity load shedding, water shortage and lawlessness are now facing flour crisis as well.

The flour shortage intensified on Saturday as the strike of the Flour Mills Association entered into the fifth day.

Few days ago, Sindh flour mills owners had threatened to go on a strike. They demanded the wheat support price in the province to be brought at par with that of Punjab. Millers said all factories will be closed tomorrow if their demands are not fulfilled.

The retail market claiming for shortage of flour while the market sources been hinted for the presence of flour reserves.

On the hand, Ministry of Food has termed the flour millers strike as black mailing.
