FM Qureshi optimistic to picking up on dialogue with Saudi FM at UNGA

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi took to Twitter on Thursday for extending his gratitude to the Saudi Arabia’s government and assuring to lift up discussion with his Saudi counterpart at the United Nations General Assembly’s (UNGA) session. 

Shortly, after coming back to Islamabad from the official visits of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates with Prime Minister Imran Khan, Qureshi wrote “I would like to thank the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their hospitality.”

While mentioning Saudi’s Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir, he said “I look forward to picking up on my discussions with Foreign Minister AdelAljubeir at the UNGA.”

In the 73rd session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 73), the first day of the high-level General Debate will be held on Tuesday, September 25. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will lead Pakistani delegation in the 73rd UNGA session.

Pakistani Foreign Minister further recounted in his tweet that the mutual cooperation between two ally countries spans over decades. “Our relationship has a strong foundation rooted in decades of mutual understanding, support and cooperation,” he added.

Pakistani delegation comprising Prime Minister Imran Khan and other Federal Ministers returned to the country on Thursday after their visits to Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates.

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, during the visit, reaffirming their intention to stand by each other at all times, expressed their desire to further enhance and diversify bilateral cooperation and to continue close coordination on issues of mutual interest.

Based on their decades old fraternal ties, both the countries expressed complete solidarity with each other in their efforts at preserving their sovereignty and territorial integrity, said a statement issued by Foreign Office at the conclusion of two-day state visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Saudi Arabia.
