LAHORE: As mercury goes down in Punjab fog engulfs Lahore and several other parts of Punjab causing closure of Motorway at various points due to visibility problem, ARY News reported on Tuesday.
The fog-related accidents claimed seven lives in different cities of Punjab. In Lahore four persons died when two cars collided head on at Defence Khayaban e Iqbal. Two persons were killed in another fatal traffice mishap at Khushab road.
Mist covers the most parts of Punjab causing the motorway section from Kot Momin to Lahore closed for vehicular traffic. Two international flights from Lahore airport cancelled due to bad weather, while another 10 flights were delayed. Eight domestic flights from various cities were also postponed due to misty conditions.
Pindi Bhattian to Faisalabad M-III highway has also been closed due to zero visibility.
The motorway’s Peshawar to Swabi section has also been engulfed in thick cover of fog causing visiblity problems for drivers.
