KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Thursday adjourned a bail petition filed by a suspect in a case pertaining to the death of two children after consuming food from an upscale restaurant in Karachi, ARY News reported.
A division bench of the high court was hearing the petition moved by the owner of the restaurant.
The suspect’s lawyer stated before the bench that the parents of the children had entered into a settlement with his client, pardoning him without any duress.
He said a copy of the agreement had been submitted in the trial court which is yet to pass an order in this regard.
Observing that it would hear the petition at hand after the trial court’s order vis-à-vis the settlement, the bench put off the hearing till March 9.

The minor siblings, Ahmad, one-and-a-half-year old, and Muhammad, five-years old, had died in November after consuming food at Zamzama’s Arizona Grill restaurant. After initial probe, the police had sealed the restaurant and arrested its owner.
A lab report submitted by the Sindh Food Authority (SFA) in the court had stated that the children had died from food poisoning. There was a high quantity of E.coli bacteria found in the expired meat recovered from the restaurant.
