According to details, security forces carried out a search operation at Gwal Ismailzai area adjoining Zhob after receiving information about presence of terrorists. Three helicopters also took part in the operation.
The terrorists opened fire at the troops, who had surrounded the area, whereas a suicide bomber also blew himself up during the exchange of fire. The explosion was heard in the far flung areas in the region.
No other casualties were reported in the incident.
The forces recovered 50 suicide jackets, 400 kilograms of explosives, more than 500 hand grenades, 10 Kalashnikovs and 10 pistols during the raid.
A bunker in the area was destroyed whereas two vehicles and two motorcycles also caught fire by the explosion.
No arrests have been reported so far.
