MIRANSHAH: After attacks on security personnel in North Waziristan tribal region, security forces in a counter attack killed a militant and injured two others, ARY News reporated on Tuesday.
The forces personnel in an engagement with militants also arrested four suspects.
North Waziristan tribal region, bordering Afghanistan, is the hotbed of Taliban insurgency.
On Monday six security men and an officer were injured in two attacks in Datakhel area of North Waziristan Agency on Monday, government sources said.
A roadside bomb exploded near a military truck in Dathakhel near Afghan border, in the attack six soldiers were injured. The truck was destroyed in the attack.
A security picket was attacked in another terrorism incident, when militants opened fire at a security picket in Datakhel region. An official was injured.
Pakistan military commanders have pledged to follow a policy of ceasefire during the ongoing peace talks with the militants as per the government's decision. The military however, vow to retaliate in case the militants attack the security personnel.
North Waziristan is the northern part of Waziristan mountainous region in the northeast of Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan. Waziristan comprises the area west and south-west of Peshawar between the Kurram River to the north and the Gomal River to the south, in Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
