Former CJP requests a plot in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, prior to his retirement, had requested for a residential plot in the metropolis, ARY News reports on Sunday.

According to an english newspaper, Registrar of Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) wrote a letter to Director General of Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation in which he requested that a residential plot, located at Sector I-8/2, should be allotted to the former top judge.

It is written in the letter that the former CJP has the right for the plot.

Federal Government, while offering the former CJP a house at Sector D-12, said that the former judge had refused the offer in 2009 and the plot has been given to someone else.
