Quetta’s Samungli airbase attacked; three killed

QUETTA: A Pakistan Airforce (PAF) airbase in Balochistan’s capital was attacked Friday Night and blasts at the bases killed three citizens and injured eight security personnel, ARY News reported.

The two PAF airbases, Samungli and Khalid were attacked. Blasts were heard at Samungli airbase while police and terrorists exchanged fire.

Eight security forces personnel are injured while two terrorists are killed so far.

The terrorists also fired two rockets but nothing was damaged as the rockets landed in empty space.

According to details, security forces stopped a car near Samungli Airbase for checking upon which the gunmen inside the car opened fire on the security forces personnel.

According to PAF spokesperson, the terrorists wanted to enter the airbase but heavy contingents of police personnel were called after the firing incident and entry and exit routes were sealed.

One terrorist and three citizens were killed while eight security forces personnel were injured during the fire exchange between security forces and militants.

Till the last reports, after two more blasts, the firing among terrorists and security forces personnel resumed and the situation is still serious.
