Four criminals killed in Rangers raid in Lyari

KARACHI: Rangers personnel killed four criminals in an encounter in Lyari, while two others escaped from the spot, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Paramilitary Rangers on an intelligence cue conducted a raid in Lyari and killed four criminals involved in gang war terror in the area.

Slain terrorists have been identified as Danish Kekra, Arshad alias Guddu, Musa Baloch and Naveed Baloch. Their two accomplices escaped from the scene.

The slain criminals were involved in targeted killings, attempt to murder, extortion, kidnapping for ransom and other heinous crimes, Rangers sources said.

A contingent of law enforcement agencies on pointation of arrested criminals conducted a raid in Surjani area of Karachi and captured large quantity of illegal weapons.

According to officials, five klashnikovs, four seven mm rifles and a light machine-gun unearthed in the raid.

The weapons belong to the members of land mafia and were used during the land grabbing operations of the mafia, officials further said.

Moreover, unidentified gunmen killed a man in Liaquatabad II area, police officials said. The deceased have been identified as Asad Ali.

The dead body has been transferred to hospital, officials further said.
