Four dacoits killed in two police encounters in Punjab

SHEIKHUPURA/FAISALABAD: Four dacoits killed in two separate encounters with police on Wednesday night in two different cities of Punjab, ARY News reported.

According to police account, two robbers were engaged in burglary in Khanqah Dogran area of Sheikhupura when police personnel reached the robbery spot, the miscreants opened fire at police in a botched attempt to flee and in retaliatory firing by police they were killed.

In another similar incident, a gang of burglars attacked police vehicle in Kajla area of Faisalabad in a bid to rescue their captive accomplice, which resulted in exchange of fire between the police and miscreants. Two attackers were killed in the alleged encounter with police.

The identification of slain miscreants in both incidents could not be ascertained.
