A target of immunizing 3.6 million children across the province has been set by the health department officials including 2.1 million children in Karachi.

Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan and Comissioner Karachi Syed Asif Haider Shah administered polio vaccine drops to children at Sobhraj Maternity Hospital of Karachi.

Sindh Governor made an appeal to all the parents to immunize their children from the virus as they are the future of the country.

Commissioner Karachi, speaking to media, claimed that the crippling disease will be eradicated from the country by May 2016.

On the other hands, two families in Karachi’s Union Council-16, Sultanabad, reportedly refused the polio vaccination teams to administer the drops to their children, however, the officials managed to convince a family to immunize their children from the virus.
