Four ‘hardcore terrorists’ convicted by military courts hanged

RAWALPINDI: Four more hardcore terrorists tried by the military courts, have been executed at a jail in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for being involved in various heinous offences, ARY News reported Wednesday.

According Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the convicts were involved in crimes relating to terrorism including killing of innocent civilians, destruction of educational institutions, attacking Armed Forces of Pakistan and the Law Enforcement Agencies.

All four convicts were affiliated to banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). The identification and details of offences committed by slain terrorists were shared as:

Ahmed Ali S/O Bakhat Karam was an active member of outlawed TTP. He was allegedly involved in attacking Armed Forces of Pakistan, Law Enforcement Agencies and destruction of an educational institution which resulted in death and injuries of soldiers and a civilian. Fire-arms and explosives were also seized from his possession. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence.

Asghar Khan S/O Aziz ur Rehman was another active member of TTP. According to ISPR, he was involved in attacking Armed Forces of Pakistan, Law Enforcement Agencies and destruction of educational institution. a weapon was recovered from his possession. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence.

Haroon ur Rasheed S/O Mian Said Usman, another TTP member, was involved in attacking Armed Forces of Pakistan, Law Enforcement Agencies and destruction of an educational institution resulting in casualties. Arms and ammunition were recovered from his possession. The convict admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court and was awarded death sentence.

Gul Rehman S/O Zareen, the fourth terrorist was convicted with similar charges of attacking Armed Forces of Pakistan which resulted in death of a civilian and a soldier. Explosive material was recovered from his possession. The convict had admitted his offences before the Magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence.
