RAWALPINDI: Four hardcore terrorists belonging to outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were hanged on Wednesday morning, ARY News reported.
According to a statement of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan Army media wing, all terrorists were convicted by the military courts.
The statement further added that the terrorists were involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism, including killing of innocent civilians, attacking a mosque, destruction of communication infrastructure, attacking law enforcement agencies and the armed forces personnel.
All the terrorists had confessed their crimes before a magistrate and in the trial court, the ISPR statement added.
The ISPR identified the convicts as Qaiser Khan S/O Habib Khan, Muhammad Umar S/O Saida Jan, Qari Zubair Muhammad S/O Sakhi Muhammad and Aziz Khan S/O Ashber who were active members of Tehreek-e- Taliban Pakistan and were involved in killings, attacks on communication infrastructure and law enforcement agencies and the military personnel. They admitted their crimes before a magistrate and the trial court and were awarded death sentence.
The identification and crimes committed by the convicts were shared as:
Qaiser Khan S/O Habib Khan was involved in killing of an innocent civilian and destruction of communication infrastructure.
Muhammad Umar S/O Saida Jan was involved in destruction of an educational institution and attacking armed forces of Pakistan which resulted in death and injuries to soldiers.
Qari Zubair Muhammad S/O Sakhi Muhammad was involved in a suicidal attack on a mosque, which resulted in death of soldiers, civilians and injuries to several others as well as possessing fire-arms and explosives.
Aziz Khan S/O Ashber was involved in attacking armed forces and destruction of communication system which resulted in death and injuries to soldiers. He was also in possession of suicide jacket.
