Four more children die of malnutrition in Thar as death toll rises to 143

According to details, four more children who were undergoing treatment at Mithi Civil Hospital passed awar. These additional three deaths have brought the death toll in Mithi and Thar this year to 143.

As many as 70 children are undergoing treatment due to malnutrition in different hospitals. Chief Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali had warned Sindh government to take due measures with regard to the dismal situation in Thar, before the judiciary intervened.

After this warning, Sindh government had formed a judicial commission, which is the third judicial commission in the last two years.

Last month in January, Chief Minister of Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah had remarked that the deaths in Thar were not as a result of drought.
