Sources said that the bomb, planted on the corner of a street in Lower Kurram Agency, went off as a security convoy was passing through the area. Four soldiers were killed on the spot while two others sustained injuries.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene and shifted the wounded to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar.
A search operation was launched by the troops for the arrest of the culprits.
