LAHORE: Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) arrested four suspects said to be involved in the murder of stage actress Kismat Baig from Lahore, ARY News reported.
According to details, Police carried out raids in Faisalabad and Gujranwala and arrested four suspects identified as Rana Muzammil, Rana Faheem, Rana Tajammul and Shahid.
CIA Police traced the four suspects with the help of their mobile phone records.
Sources said that Rana Muzammil is the prime suspect in the case as he was friends with Baig. He did not like the actress being friends with others, investigation sources said.
Armed men targeted Kismat Baig in Harbanspura area of Lahore on the fateful night, when she was returning home with her secretary after a busy workday, who was also injured in the attack. She succumbed to her injuries at a hospital during treatment.
The autopsy report revealed that the slain actress received at least 12 bullets in the gun attack.
Her funeral prayers were offered at a mosque attended by her relatives and large number of fellow artists. She was laid to rest at a graveyard in Lahore previous night.
