KARACHI: Four terrorists were gunned down in police encounter in Aliabad area, ARY News reported Wednesday.
The counter between police and terrorists took place near Northern Bypass. DIG west confirmed that four terrorists were killed by police in an encounter.
He said the slain terrorists were affiliated with banned Tehreek-e-Taliban. The encounter occurred on a tip-off by intelligence agencies about presence of terrorists in the area.
It may be noted here that a full-fledge military operation against terrorists is underway in North Waziristan Agency since July 15. More than 300 militants have been killed by security forces.
In a report of intelligence agencies released a day ago, Taliban commanders, who have fled North Waziristan, have reached Karachi to take shelter.
In an intelligence report, secret agencies have warned that the fugitive militants could launch terrorist attacks in the city with the help of the Taliban already present here.
