French parliamentary delegation expresses confidence in PTI govt’s trade policies

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of French parliamentarians here on Wednesday called on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed Khan and expressed confidence in the trade policies adopted by the current government, ARY News reported.

The parliamentarians are the members of ‘France Pakistan Friendship Group’ in the French National Assembly and visiting Pakistan to boost bilateral trade ties.

The French delegation told Faisal Javed Khan that soon representatives of French companies would visit Pakistan to explore investment opportunities in various sectors.

The lawmakers said, ” We are inspired by the performance of current Pakistani government. Traders’ problems reduced in the tenure of this government.”

On the occasion, Senator Faisal Javed hoped that French business community would explore investment opportunities in various sectors. He said that improvement in Pak-French trade ties was a positive sign.

Both sides also agreed to further improve defence ties between Pakistan and France.

Earlier, President Dr. Arif Alvi, on April 8, had said Pakistan is focussed to strengthen its bilateral ties with France and explore new avenues of collaboration in realms of trade and investment for mutual benefit of both the countries.

The president had underscored that Pakistan offers various investment opportunities for French investors especially in the sectors like manufacturing, housing, tourism, communications, and road infrastructure.
