Funds blockage: Opposition flies into rage in Punjab Assembly

TOP NEWS

LAHORE: Opposition members in the Punjab Assembly got furious today over non-payment of funds for their respective constituencies and lodged their protest amid tearing apart copies of assembly agenda, ARY News reported Wednesday.

Ruckus developed in the house when opposition members protested and shouted slogans against non-payment of their development funds.

They attempted to present a resolution against what they called ‘discriminatory attitude’ of the government, but the speaker disallowed it.

Opposition members gathered in front of speaker's rostrum and tore apart copies of the house agenda, which is commonly known as ‘order of the day’.

They said the PML-N government was only releasing funds to their party MPAs and neglecting the opposition members.
