PESHAWAR: The funeral prayers of Major Jahanzeb were offered at Corps Headquarters here in Peshawar, ARY News reports on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pervez Khattak, Inspector General Frontier Corps and other top officials attended the funeral prayers of the martyred soldier.
The body of the martyred soldier has been sent to his native city of Multan.
Father of Major Jahanzeb, while speaking to media at his native house, said that the sacrifice of his son will not go in vain. He added that his son chased the terrorists and was martyred in the exchange of fire.
Major Jahanzeb's sister said that she was proud of the sacrifice given by his brother.
The soldier of Pakistan Army was matyred as militants attacked a vehicle of the military.
According to a press release by Inter Services Public Relation (ISPR), Major Jahanzeb was killed in the line of duty during the ambush on the vehicle of security forces.
The attack took place near the Frontier Region of Peshawar close to the Pak-Afghan border.
The Army official sustained bullet wounds and later succumbed to his injuries, the military's media wing said.
Three terrorists were also killed in the retaliatory fire by the Pakistan Army.
The attack came on the day when the Government had excused itself from continuing the peace process with Taliban militants.
