ISLAMABAD: Funeral prayers of slain Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) leaders Mufti Muneer Muawiya, and Qari Asad Mahmood, offered in front of the Parliament House in Islamabad on Saturday, ARY News reports.

Lal Masjid's Khateeb Maulana Abdul Aziz led funeral prayers of two ASWJ leaders.

The two officials of ASWJ were shot dead in Islamabad on Friday.

The two were in a car when two motorcycle riding gunmen sprayed bullets at their vehicle, police officials said.

Before funeral prayers, the workers of ASWJ staged protest sit-in and demanded withdrawal of cases against their party workers.

Earlier, Islamabad administration officials held talks with Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat leaders to convince them to avoid holding funeral prayers before the Parliament House due to security concerns.
