Funeral prayers of three martyred policemen offered in Karachi

KARACHI: Amid the presence of high-profile officials, the funeral prayers of the three policemen were offered at Garden Headquarters today who were gunned down in Korangi area of the city on Friday evening.

The funeral rituals were attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Rangers DG Major General Muhammad Saeed and IGP AD Khawaja.

The top administrative and security officials also offered their condolences to the grieving families of the slain policemen.

On Friday, unidentified armed motorcyclists opened fire on a vehicle of Awami Colony Police Station in Korangi, leaving two policemen and a 10 year old kid dead on the spot. Another cop was injured during the gun attack who succumbed to his wounds in the hospital during the treatment.

The martyred policemen were not wearing body armour at the time of the attack.

Security personnel reached the scene of the incident following the tragedy and started investigation.

A month ago on June 23, four policemen were killed in a gun attack in Karachi’s SITE area when they were breaking their fast near Siemens Chowrangi in the industrial area.

Critically injured, when they were being moved to hospital they breathed their last on their way to the hospital.
