Pakistan in their first innings posted 417 on the board with Asad Shafiq scoring 131 on the board and Sarfraz Ahmed contributing 96 runs for the team. Zulfiqar Babar also made 56 runs in the innings.

Dimuth Karunaratne made 79 runs in the second innings anjd Lahiru Thrimanne scoring 44 runs for the team.
Wahab Riaz took two wickets while Zulfiqar Babar dismissed one batsmen.
The Pakistani Mohammad Hafeez and Ahmed Shehzad guided their team to win in the first test match as they remained unbeaten at 46 and 43 runs respectively.
